The reason for the increase in blood sugar with a sufficient amount of pancreatic hormone is produced, as a rule, insulin resistance of cells. In all cases, some of the glucose remains in the blood and cannot be converted into energy.

Latent diabetes

Prediabetes, which doctors also call latent diabetes mellitus, is not considered a form of diabetes. The reason for this conclusion may be a slight increase in blood sugar, but not high enough for the diagnosis of diabetes.

Is impaired glucose tolerance dangerous?

This condition does not cause complications associated with diabetes, for example, such as kidney failure.
